Promoting Recovery in the Workplace

The opioid epidemic affects Mississippians of all backgrounds. However, Mississippians working in certain occupations are at greater risk for developing opioid use disorder.

Employers can help stem the tide of opioid addiction by learning to recognize early warning signs of opioid use disorder and connecting employees to treatment and recovery support. We have developed the Stand Up, Mississippi Opioid Workplace Awareness Initiative Toolkit to provide practical tools employers can use to create a healthy, supportive work environment for Mississippians who may be at greater risk for opioid dependence and addiction.

This toolkit also includes information on how to recognize the warning signs of addiction and treatment options available in their area.
